Print Outside the Box: Unique Marketing Ideas to Get Your Business Noticed

So you’re planning on utilizing print marketing for your small business. You already know how to handle the planning phase and what to have in mind when you speak with a graphic designer. You’ve made your moodboards, established a timeline, figured out your brand message, and researched what your competitors are doing.

Now it’s time to move forward and put your plans into action.

Be prepared

Have a marketing message ready to go. Plan what you want to accomplish with your marketing and do your research (or speak to one of our experts!) to figure out how to make it happen. Are you trying to attract new customers? Advertise a new service? Promote an upcoming event or sale? Focus your efforts on this goal.

Know the possibilities

It’s important to be aware of what’s available. You can’t go wrong with the classics- vehicle wraps, yard signs, and business cards- but there’s a whole world of marketing possibilities available out there.

You want potential customers to already know your company’s name. In the past, lots of companies accomplished this with a catchy radio jingle or unique commercial. But nowadays, less and less people are listening to the radio in favor of music-streaming services… and ditching cable TV in favor of Netflix!

The following is a list of some examples of print marketing that could help push your business to the next level.

Stick it to the competition

Vinyl stickers and decals are an excellent way to add your branding to just about any surface. The scale is up to you, too.

Small decals are perfect for sticking on products you’re proud of.

For example, if your company provides fixtures for residential or commercial building, a decal with your company’s logo and contact information, placed somewhere subtle, is the perfect advertisement.

It shows pride in your work and makes it easy for customers to know where to go when they want to purchase quality products of their own.

You can also use adhesive vinyl on a larger scale. If your business has a storefront with a lot of window space, why not utilize that space?

We can put together custom graphics for you that will draw attention to your building and make it easy for customers to find you. It also allows customers passing by to take note of where you’re located and easily view your contact information!

A cut(out) above the rest

Interactive graphics have been around for centuries, but did you know they can be used as a print marketing tool?

The above images show “carnival cutouts”, the old-timey photo props that have a face-sized hole above an image- some depicting more ridiculous scenarios than others. Putting one of these at your business’s location, or at a booth at a fair or trade show, gives people something to gravitate toward.

In the age of social media, people love a photo op. Add your company’s logo and social media handle and wait for customers to post their photos! (And yes, we can print images this size!)

Be creative

Typically, most people probably think of yard signs and business cards when they think about print marketing. But there are so many more options available for business owners today.

With our laser cutter and UV printer, we’re able to put graphics on just about any surface. For example, if you own a car repair business, why not create branded keychains?

If potential customers are seeing your company’s name and contact information every time they reach for their keys, your company name is already in their head. When they run into car issues, chances are good they’ll give you a call!

Stay relevant all year long

Everyone uses a calendar in some way on a daily basis. If you have custom branded calendars put together for the upcoming year and your company’s logo, social media handles, and contact information, your customers will be seeing your marketing all year long.

No matter what type of business you own or who your potential customers might be, there’s a budget-friendly way of reaching people with print marketing. Think outside the box and contact us today for help getting your business noticed in a big way!

Stand Out in the Crowd! How to Use Print Services to Get Noticed

As the owner of a small business, you know how important it is to gather a reliable customer base. Customers are your company’s lifeblood– everything you do is for them!

In the age of targeted social media marketing and SEO, though, gaining customers isn’t as simple as it once was. Back in the day, you could just place an ad in the newspaper and wait for the calls to come in.

Now, customers are flooded with hundreds of options for the goods and services they’re looking for. The ads that they see every day are curated by their recent search history.

There are lots of businesses out there trying to convince customers to choose them, and paying good money to do so.

Signs PDQ specializes in high-quality print services for businesses and can work with you to create designs that will capture attention and make your company memorable to potential customers.

But how do you decide what your graphics will look like and how they’ll be used?

Here’s how to prepare.

Quantity vs. Quality

Spending a lot of money on advertising doesn’t guarantee customers. You can pour as much money as you want into paid, targeted advertising, but if your ad doesn’t do a good job explaining to your customer quickly why you are the best, you don’t stand a chance.

This is why it’s important to think about what message you’re trying to send to customers. Sit down for a brainstorming session on your company’s unique brand and message.

Short and Sweet

Describe your business in a short paragraph. What services do you offer? What makes you unique? Do you offer great customer service, or pride yourself on being top of the line in quality?

What feelings do you want your brand to evoke? What’s the end result of a sale?

For example, say you’re a home insulation contractor. Once a customer has chosen your business and you’ve completed your work, your customer’s home is newly insulated. What are the feelings that come along with that?

Some that might come to mind include coziness and safety. They’ve chosen the best for their home, the place where they live with their family and spend much of their time.

If your company is a restaurant or bakery, think about what most of your customers come in looking for.

Will they leave feeling like they’ve made a healthy choice? Will they feel like they’ve indulged and purchased themselves a well-earned treat? Plan your marketing accordingly.

Eye on the Competition

Do some research on companies that are similar to you, or located close to you. Pay attention to their successes and failures.

What can you learn from their Yelp and Google reviews? Send someone into their location and ask them to take note of your competitor’s branding and quality.

Make a Moodboard

Sign up for a Pinterest account and browse through images. Create a special board for images and ideas that resonate with you, paying close attention to ads, logos, and designs that appeal to you.

This will make your conversation with a graphic designer much easier.

Having an idea of the visual mood you’d like to create with your branding and advertising means the designer you work with will understand exactly what you have in mind and be able to make your vision a reality.

Time is of the Essence

It’s always good to have a timeline in mind when starting a project, especially if your company’s services are seasonal.

If your busy season is the summertime, late fall and winter are a great time to start brainstorming so that everything’s ready by the end of spring.

The most time-consuming part of the process is the planning phase.

Once you begin work with our designers, your graphics can be completed within a week or two– depending on the quantity and size of what you’ve decided to get.

Begin the process with a timeline in mind so we can be sure to accommodate it.
